  How do I order static IP addresses?
You may configure and start using your static IP address within one hour of ordering it from CenturyLink.
If your email address ends in @q.com, @centurylink.net:

*Assignable refers to dedicating an IP address to a device(s) behind your DSL modem or authenticating device.

**If you lease 1 public (WAN) static IP address, it ONLY provides 1 IP used by your DSL modem or authenticating device. If you need to assign an IP address to a devices behind your DSL modem or authenticating device, you will need to lease a block of 8 or more IP's.


You may lease up to 64 Static IP addresses per high-speed Internet telephone line.
When you lease a block of IP addresses, three addresses are reserved for network functions. The remaining IP addresses are available for you to assign to individual computers as outlined in the table below:

  After ordering static IPs, how do I turn Port 25 Filtering off?
Port 25 filtering is enabled by default. If you are using your own email server, port 25 filtering should be disabled.
If your email address ends in @q.com, @centurylink.net:
Disable/enable Port 25 Filtering using the static IP tool.
If your email address ends in @qwest.net, @qwestoffice.net:
Disable/enable Port 25 Filtering using using the account manager.
  • You will need your Qwest.net primary account user name and password to sign in to the ordering tool. If you do not know your primary user name and password, please contact CenturyLink Technical Support.
  • Then, follow the instructions on the screen.
  What are the basic terms of the IP address lease?
The lease on static IP addresses continues until you either choose to delete them from your account, or until you cancel your CenturyLink High-Speed Internet service.

Only one domain name can be assigned to a specific IP address. For example, ftp.mycompany.com and www.mycompany.com are considered one domain name. This is only applicable to qwestoffice.net customers.

However, www.yourcompany.com and www.mycompany.com are considered two separate domain names and could not both be assigned to the same static IP address. This is only applicable to qwestoffice.net customers.

  How do I cancel my Static IP lease?
Instructions listed by account type:
  If your email address ends in @qwest.net, @qwestoffice.net:
Use Account Manager.
  • You will need your Qwest.net primary account user name and password to sign in to the ordering tool.
  • Select "Delete IP Block" and then follow the instructions on the screen.
  If your email address ends in @q.com, @centurylink.net:
Use the Static IP tool.
  • Select "Delete IP Block" and then follow the instructions on the following screens.
Don't forget to Re-configure your modem and computer after deleting your IP Block. See the section below.
